G-Tools Automatic Ebb & Flow Irrigation Kit for 2 x 1m Grow Tray

This G-Tools kit contains everything needed to automate feeding on a 2 x 1m ebb & flow tray. It suits growers who want reliable, repeatable watering without being tied to the grow room twice a day.

The kit centres on a 62-litre nutrient tank that slides under your grow table. Mix your solution once, set your timer, and the Q2007 pump does the rest. In ebb & flow mode, the tray floods at timed intervals. Plants sitting in pots with drainage holes draw up water and nutrients from below. When the pump cuts out, liquid drains back into the reservoir via the outlet tap.

Two adjustable taps give you real control. The inlet tap governs how quickly the tray fills. The outlet tap controls drain speed, which directly affects how long roots stay in contact with the nutrient solution. Slower drains suit plants that need longer absorption windows. Faster drains suit species sensitive to waterlogging. This level of adjustment is rarely included at this price point.

If you prefer to grow larger plants in soil or coco in bigger pots, switch to drip mode. Clip the supplied drippers onto the supply line and push at least one into each pot. The pump runs briefly, perhaps one to three minutes at a time, several times a day. A digital timer with minute-interval programming is essential here; the kit does not include one, so pair it with a quality segment or digital timer.

This kit is compatible with G-Tools ebb & flow trays in three sizes: 2 x 1m, 2 x 0.8m and 2 x 0.63m. If you are setting up a new grow space, pair it with the matching G-Tools tray and table so the reservoir sits flush underneath. LED growers running consistent light schedules will find automated irrigation completes the hands-off grow cycle.

Grower’s Note: In ebb & flow, flood duration matters as much as flood frequency. Most growers in rockwool or clay pebbles run two to four floods per day under lights, with flood times of 15 to 30 minutes depending on pot depth. Keep an eye on the reservoir EC and pH daily at first - top up with plain water between full reservoir changes to prevent nutrient concentration creeping up as plants transpire.
