This G-Tools grow rack brings serious structure to microgreen and propagation production. It is built around two 1.1 x 1 m ebb and flow trays per tier, making it the logical centrepiece of a dedicated flood-and-drain growing system.

Microgreen and baby-leaf production demands consistent, repeatable growing conditions across multiple tiers. This rack provides exactly that. Each tier holds two 1.1 x 1 m ebb and flow trays, giving you 2.2 m² of productive canopy per level. Start with a single tier and bolt on additional levels as your output scales - the design accommodates this without any structural reworking.

The base of the rack is purposely designed with enough clearance to sit a 62-litre water tank directly underneath. Nutrient solution is pumped up to the trays on a timed schedule. When the pump stops, gravity returns all the solution to the tank - a true ebb and flow cycle with no wasted water or nutrients. G-Tools irrigation kits are available separately and will serve a full three-tier rack from a single reservoir.

Lighting is a critical factor with any vertical rack. G-Tools recommends Sanlight Flex II 20 W LED strips at each tier. Running three, four, or five Flex II 20 units per tier achieves progressively higher PPFD values - choose the lamp count that matches the light demand of your specific crop. Sanlight Flex II strips are slim enough to mount close to the canopy without eating into your tier headroom.

If you need to move the rack - for cleaning, repositioning, or reconfiguring the space - wheels can be fitted on request at the time of ordering. This is worth specifying upfront if your growing area is likely to evolve, as retrofitting casters later is more involved. Plan your tier count, lamp quantity, and wheel requirement before ordering so the rack arrives ready to use from day one.

Grower’s Note: Microgreens grow fast and consume light intensively during their short cycle. Keep the canopy-to-lamp distance consistent across every tier - even a 5 cm difference in mounting height can produce uneven growth and tip-burn on light-hungry varieties such as sunflower or pea shoots. Use a par meter to verify PPFD at tray level before your first production run rather than relying on lamp count alone.
