This 200cm × 63cm ebb and flow tray is built from UV-resistant virgin plastic and designed for serious recirculating hydroponic systems. It suits growers running flood-and-drain cycles on a grow rack or anyone wanting a clean, contained drip-irrigation surface.
The tray measures 200cm × 63cm and pairs directly with a dedicated aluminium grow table to create a stable, fully waterproof growing platform. The aluminium table is sold separately but is engineered to match this tray exactly, so there is no cutting, trimming, or improvised support required. This combination is particularly popular on multi-tier grow racks where a secure, level surface is essential.
For flood-and-drain use, connect a pump to the drainage point via a lead-through fitting and tap. The pump floods the tray floor with nutrient solution on a timer; when it switches off, solution drains back to the reservoir under gravity. This cycle actively pushes stale air out of the root zone during the flood and draws fresh oxygen back in as the water recedes. The result is accelerated root development and consistently healthy plants. Add at least one overflow fitting to set a safe maximum flood depth and protect against pump timer errors.
The same tray works equally well as a drip-irrigation catch tray. Run your supply line and drippers across the tray above your pots and allow runoff to collect and drain through a single lead-through at the drainage point. This is simpler to set up than a full flood system and still keeps your growing area dry and tidy. Because the trays arrive without lead-throughs, you choose the fittings that match your system - standard PVC push-fit or threaded couplings from any plumbing supplier work perfectly.
For grow-rack builds, this tray pairs well with G-Tools grow cabinets and adjustable racking systems. Use Sanlight LED panels overhead for full-spectrum coverage across the 200cm length. A single Sanlight Q6W or two smaller Q-series panels cover this tray width comfortably. Plan your reservoir capacity at roughly 10-15 litres minimum to ensure adequate flood depth across the full 200cm × 63cm surface area without running the pump dry.
Grower’s Note: In a flood-and-drain system, flood duration matters as much as flood frequency. Aim to flood the tray for 15-30 minutes per cycle, enough to saturate the bottom third of your growing medium, then allow a full drain before the next cycle. In warm environments, increase cycle frequency rather than flood duration to keep roots oxygenated. Always test your drainage point and overflow fittings with plain water before adding nutrient solution to confirm there are no slow leaks around the fittings.
