The G-Tools 0.52 × 0.52 m tray is the dedicated irrigation base for the Bonanza 0.35 grow box. Growers who want clean, repeatable watering cycles with zero standing water will find it ideal.
This tray measures 520 × 520 mm and sits directly inside the Bonanza 0.35 cabinet. Its moulded drainage channels guide every drop of nutrient solution towards a single, deeper collection point at the base. After each flood or drip cycle, the tray empties completely. That matters because standing water starves roots of oxygen and invites bacterial and fungal growth.
The tray arrives undrilled. You drill the inlet and outlet holes yourself at the central collection point, positioning them to suit your pump, timer, and drain pipe layout. This keeps the tray universal across drip and ebb & flow configurations. For ebb & flow, pair it with a submersible pump, overflow standpipe, and a nutrient reservoir below the cabinet.
The 40 mm raised perimeter edge doubles as a passive leak guard. If you simply want leak protection rather than active irrigation, place the tray on a few aluminium profiles or timber battens to level it out - the channelled base means it will rock on a flat floor without support underneath. Used this way it catches any runoff from hand-watered pots without flooding your grow space.
For a ready-made shallow water culture setup, add the optional G-Tools SWC lid. The lid stands 70 mm tall and holds five net cups. Combined with the tray, it supports five plants in a static nutrient solution with minimal equipment. This is a practical entry point for growers who want to try DWC-style cultivation inside a compact cabinet.
Grower’s Note: With any flood-and-drain system, keep your flood depth to around 20-30 mm and time your drain cycle so the tray empties fully within 15-20 minutes. If nutrient solution lingers after that window, check that your drain pipe isn't kinked and that the tray is level. A completely dry tray between cycles is the single biggest defence against pythium and algae in a compact grow box.
