G-Tools Ebb & Flow Tray 1.1 x 0.63 m

This G-Tools ebb & flow tray measures 1,100 × 630 mm and is designed to sit on a matching aluminium grow table inside the Bonanza 1 m² grow box. It suits growers who want a clean, waterproof flood-and-drain bed or a drip-irrigation catchment tray in a controlled indoor environment.

The tray is moulded from UV-resistant virgin plastic. That matters in a grow room where high-intensity lighting degrades ordinary plastics quickly. The guttered base channels any standing liquid towards a single, deeper drainage point. Lead-throughs for inlet and outlet are not supplied, because the correct size depends on whether you run flood-and-drain or drip. Standard PVC push-fit couplings, available from any hardware or plumbing merchant, fit directly into the drainage point.

In a flood-and-drain setup, a pump fills the tray to a set depth on a timer. Nutrient solution enters through holes in the base of each pot, feeding roots directly. As the solution rises it displaces stale air from the root zone. When the pump cuts out, the solution drains back to the reservoir and fresh oxygen is drawn back into the growing medium. This alternating wet-dry cycle promotes vigorous, healthy root development. Fit at least one overflow lead-through to guard against timer faults or blocked drains.

For drip irrigation, position your drip lines above the tray surface. Leachate that drains from the base of pots collects in the gutters and exits through a single lead-through. In this configuration you do not need a flood-height overflow, so one outlet is enough. Both methods benefit from the tray's pairing with the dedicated aluminium grow table, which holds the tray level and keeps electrical equipment safely away from water.

Grower’s Note: With flood-and-drain, keep flood depth below the rim of your pots so roots are wetted but not submerged. A flood height of 40-50 mm suits most 6-11 litre pots. Run flood cycles two to four times per day under lights, reducing frequency during the dark period. Always install at least one overflow so that a stuck pump float cannot waterlog your root zone overnight.
