This G-Tools grow rack is purpose-built for high-density microgreens production using an ebb-and-flow irrigation system. It suits hobbyists and small commercial growers who want a tidy, scalable vertical setup without wasted floor space.
Each tier of the rack accommodates two trays measuring 1.1 x 0.63 m - a generous canopy footprint for microgreens, herbs, or seedlings. The frame starts as a single-tier unit and accepts additional tiers when you need to scale. That means you are not paying for capacity you do not yet need.
The sub-frame clearance beneath the lowest tier is sized to hold a 62-litre water tank. A pump draws nutrient solution up to each tray; when the pump stops, water drains back down by gravity. This passive return keeps roots from sitting in solution and makes the ebb-and-flow cycle simple to time with a basic controller.
G-Tools offer complete irrigation kits matched to this rack at up to three tiers. Buying the rack and kit together saves time selecting tubing, manifolds, and fittings separately. For lighting, Sanlight Flex II 20 W bars are the recommended choice - their slim profile fits neatly between tiers, and you can run two, three, or four units per tier to dial in your target PPFD for the crop at hand.
If floor space is tight or you need to clean beneath the rack, ask us about the optional wheel fitting. The castors let you roll the loaded rack clear without disassembling anything. For permanent installations, the fixed-foot version keeps things stable and level on uneven surfaces.
Grower’s Note: Microgreens respond well to consistent, short flood cycles - typically one to three minutes of pump-on time, two to four times per day, depending on tray depth and ambient temperature. Keep your 62-litre tank topped up and test EC daily; shallow trays evaporate solution quickly, and nutrient concentration can drift faster than in deep-water systems. Running the lights on an 18/6 schedule with Sanlight Flex II bars close to the canopy (check your PPFD target for the specific crop) keeps internode stretch minimal and harvest weight up.
