The Sanlight Flex II 20 is a 20W modular LED bar built specifically for vertical, multi-layer growing systems. Germination, microgreens, sprouts, and pre-growth veg all sit firmly in its wheelhouse.
Multi-layer growing demands lights that sit close to the canopy without scorching it. The Flex II 20 achieves this comfortably at a hanging distance of just 15cm. That tight clearance means you can stack up to four growing levels inside a cabinet like the G-Tools Bonanza 1m². Each floor gains its own dedicated light without sacrificing vertical space between shelves.
The spectrum is weighted towards the far-red and red wavelengths that matter most during germination and early growth. Root initiation is faster, and seedlings establish more evenly. For seeds and sprouts, two Flex II 20 bars per shelf level deliver adequate coverage. Step up to three bars per level when growing herbs, leafy greens, or pre-growing mother plants or cuttings ahead of a main flowering room.
The Flex II 20 does not include a built-in driver, so you will need to budget for one separately. A 150W external driver powers up to seven bars; a 240W driver handles up to twelve. Connecting bars across multiple shelf levels requires splitters - each splitter takes up to three bars, with the fourth port used for the inter-floor linking cable. End caps seal any unused ports and keep the installation at IP68. It sounds involved at first, but the system is genuinely logical once you map it out. Our team is happy to build you a complete parts list if you send us your cabinet layout.
The Flex II 20 pairs naturally with the G-Tools Bonanza cabinet range. It also works well inside any custom multi-tier rack where shelf spacing is tight and heat management is a priority. If you are running a propagation or microgreens operation and want consistent, repeatable results across every level, this series gives you the control to achieve that without overcomplicating the setup.
Grower’s Note: When germinating seeds under low-power LED bars, maintain substrate temperatures between 20°C and 25°C - the Flex II 20's low heat output means you may still need a seedling heat mat in cooler environments. For microgreens, a photoperiod of 16 to 18 hours per day at 15cm distance produces dense, rapid growth without etiolation. Monitor the first flush carefully and adjust bar spacing slightly if outer trays receive noticeably less light than central ones.
