Ebb and flow irrigation lives or dies on timing and drainage speed. A slow or incomplete drain leaves standing water, invites root disease, and cuts the oxygen hit that roots need between cycles. The Quick Valve addresses this directly. Its siphon-assisted drainage shifts approximately 28 litres per minute, clearing a standard tray fully before the next fill cycle begins.

The oxygenation feature is the genuine differentiator here. As the tray fills, the valve introduces additional air into the nutrient solution. Roots in a well-oxygenated solution uptake water and nutrients more efficiently. Over several weeks, that translates into visibly faster vegetative growth and a more vigorous canopy - particularly noticeable in fast-cycling crops such as lettuce, herbs, and mother plants.

Installation is straightforward. The valve accepts PE pipe between 8 mm and 12.5 mm as well as standard 1/2" and 3/4" hose fittings, so it slots into almost any existing ebb and flow bench or rack without additional adaptors. It is a direct replacement for conventional flood valves, meaning your pump, timer, and reservoir all stay exactly as they are.

Grower’s Note: In hard-water areas, calcium and magnesium deposits can build up inside flood valves over time and reduce flow rates. Soak the valve in a mild citric acid solution monthly to keep the siphon mechanism clear.
