The Prima Klima PK1604 WHSPEC is a 125 mm flange carbon filter rated to 960 m³/h maximum airflow. It suits medium-to-large grow rooms where odour control must keep pace with high-volume extraction fans.

At 800 mm tall with a 125 mm flange, this filter is designed for rooms where a compact unit simply will not cope. The extended carbon bed depth increases the time air spends in contact with activated carbon, which improves adsorption efficiency. Run it at the optimal 720 m³/h and the carbon works hardest, stripping terpenes and other volatile compounds before air reaches the fan.

The 960 m³/h maximum rating gives you headroom when you need to push extraction harder - during a late-flowering flush or a summer heatwave when ventilation must increase to protect canopy temperature. Most growers running a 125 mm inline fan in the 400-750 m³/h range will find this filter a well-matched partner. Pair it with a variable-speed EC fan so you can dial airflow to the 720 m³/h sweet spot without overshooting.

At 9.9 kg this filter is substantial. Support it with proper hanging brackets or a filter cradle rather than relying on ducting alone. Position it at canopy height or above, where warm, humid, odour-laden air naturally rises. A short pre-filter sock extends carbon life by trapping dust and fine particles before they clog the bed.

For ducting, use 125 mm aluminium flexi-duct or rigid spiral duct kept as straight and short as possible. Every bend adds resistance and reduces effective airflow. If your room demands more than 960 m³/h, consider stepping up to a larger flange size rather than pushing this unit beyond its rated maximum.

Grower’s Note: Carbon filters lose adsorption capacity gradually as the activated carbon saturates with volatile compounds and moisture. Running a filter beyond its rated airflow speeds up this process. Keep humidity below 70% RH in the intake zone where possible - high moisture competes with odour molecules for adsorption sites and shortens filter life noticeably.
