Carbon filtration is not an area to cut corners on. Odour control is typically the single most critical factor when planning an indoor grow. A filter that fails early or passes smells is a real problem. The PK K2602 uses only virgin activated carbon - material that has never been used in any prior industrial process. That matters because recycled carbon carries residual saturation, which shortens its effective working life from day one.

The science behind carbon filtration is straightforward. Activated carbon has an enormous internal surface area packed with microscopic pores. As air passes through, odour molecules, dust particles, and other airborne contaminants adsorb onto the carbon surface. They bond to it and stay there rather than recirculating into your grow space or home. The PK K2602 maintains this performance reliably for up to 8 months before the carbon bed needs replacing.

Match the fan speed to your room volume and ensure your extraction rate turns over the grow space air at least once every 1 to 3 minutes for best results. Grower’s Note: Replace your carbon filter on schedule regardless of whether you can still detect odours. Carbon beds saturate gradually and often lose effectiveness before the smell breaks through completely. In high-humidity environments - above 70% RH - carbon degrades faster, so monitor your conditions carefully and consider replacing at 6 months rather than 8 if your grow space runs warm and wet.
