The GT 160 2-Speed Inline Fan and Prima Klima Eco Carbon Filter is a matched extraction kit built for grow spaces larger than 1 m². It gives you genuine climate control and reliable odour scrubbing without cobbling together mismatched components.
Air exchange is one of the most overlooked decisions when setting up an indoor grow. An undersized fan and filter combination fails on two counts: it cannot maintain the temperature and humidity targets your plants need, and it cannot scrub odours adequately. This 160 mm kit is rated at 800 m³/h, which places it firmly in the mid-to-large grow room bracket - think tents or rooms noticeably bigger than a single square metre.
The two-speed fan is a practical feature that earns its keep across the seasons. In summer, extraction demand rises as ambient temperatures climb. Dial up to full speed and the fan keeps pace. Come winter, drop to the lower speed setting to avoid over-chilling your canopy. There is no need for a separate controller for basic seasonal adjustment; one switch does the job.
The Prima Klima 2603 filter is designed for either push or pull airflow. Pulling air through the filter - drawing room air in from the outside face - is the preferred method. In that orientation the external polyester fleece acts as a pre-filter, intercepting dust before it can clog the activated carbon bed. The progressive coal structure distributes airflow evenly across the full depth of the charcoal, which prevents channelling and keeps odour performance consistent over the filter's service life.
For a grow room in this size bracket, pair this kit with an appropriate LED fixture from the Sanlight Q or EVO series, sized to your canopy footprint, and a quality thermometer-hygrometer so you can monitor whether the extraction rate is hitting your climate targets. Mount the filter at canopy height or above, and keep ducting runs as short and straight as possible to preserve the rated 800 m³/h figure at the fan outlet.
Grower’s Note: Carbon filters degrade faster when relative humidity inside the grow space consistently exceeds 70 %. Keep humidity in check during bloom and the activated carbon bed will remain effective for significantly longer. If you notice odour breakthrough before the end of the expected service life, high RH is usually the first thing to investigate rather than immediately replacing the filter.
