G-Tools Ebb & Flow Tray Lead-Through Fitting 3/4"

**This 3/4" lead-through fitting converts a G-Tools ebb and flow tray into a fully drained drip-irrigation channel.** It suits growers running drip systems on grow racks who need tidy, gravity-fed runoff rather than a flooded reservoir.

Ebb and flow trays are often used in flood-and-drain setups, but many growers prefer drip irrigation for finer control over feed schedules. This fitting bridges the gap. Insert it through the discharge hole at the tray's outlet point, secure it with the supplied nut, and the tray becomes a proper drip-runoff collector rather than a sealed flood basin.

Once fitted, the 25 mm PVC coupling at the outer end accepts standard drainage pipe. After each drip cycle, any water that runs through the growing medium and out of the pot base collects in the tray and exits cleanly through the pipe. The tray returns to dry within minutes. Wet roots sitting in stagnant runoff is one of the most common causes of root disease in indoor gardens; this fitting prevents that entirely.

On multi-tier grow racks, several trays can be connected in sequence using 25 mm pipework. Runoff from the top tray feeds into the drainage run alongside lower trays, all directing waste water to a single collection point or drain. This keeps the growing area tidy and reduces the number of separate drain lines to manage.

Grower’s Note: In drip systems, keep the drainage pipe fall as steep as practically possible - a minimum 1-in-40 gradient stops slow-draining runoff pooling inside the tray and encourages the tray to clear fully between feeds. Stagnant water in the tray, even in small volumes, raises humidity at canopy base and creates conditions favourable to fungus gnats and pythium. Check the nut is hand-tight before each new crop cycle; thermal expansion and contraction can loosen fittings over time.
