Conical Sieve 3/4

This conical sieve screws into ebb & flow tray inlets via a 3/4" external thread, stopping roots, medium particles, and debris before they reach your pipework. It suits anyone running a flood-and-drain system who wants clean, reliable drainage without constant pipe maintenance.

Ebb and flow systems depend on unobstructed pipe runs. Even small fragments of rockwool, clay pebbles, or root material can partially block a drain and throw off your flood cycle timing. This sieve fits directly into the tray's feed-through point, placing filtration right at the source.

The 3/4" external thread is the standard sizing across most ebb & flow trays sold in the UK, including those used with G-Tools grow racks. Installation is straightforward: thread the sieve into the tray opening, then secure it with a 3/4" internal-thread tap. No sealant or specialist tools are required.

Pairing this sieve with a compatible 3/4" tap gives you two benefits at once. The tap locks the sieve firmly in place and also lets you throttle flow rate. This is useful when dialling in flood depth or slowing drainage to match the water-holding capacity of your chosen medium.

Keep a spare sieve in your grow room kit. During deep cleans or medium changes, debris load spikes. Swapping to a clean sieve takes seconds and keeps your system running on schedule while you rinse the used one.

Grower’s Note: Check and rinse this sieve every time you inspect your reservoir. Fine root hairs accumulate quickly on conical mesh in active flood cycles, and even a 30% reduction in open area can slow drainage enough to waterlog your medium. A soft brush and clean water are all you need to restore full flow.
